A Super Power We All Need

I believe knowledge is power. No, it won't make you physically strong, nor will it give you the ability to control things you never could before. The type of power knowledge gives you is something more unique...it is the ability to make informed decisions. Informed decisions are magical things because you may make one today with its impact rippling far into your future. The key to making one of these magical decisions is to have access to facts. The trick is to be able to discern facts from all the junk statements that are out there. Facts are rooted in being known or proven over time. In other words, they may take time for them to be observed and verified. These days things are touted as facts, sometimes by people wearing white coats, and other times by people who believe if they shout their statements out enough times, it will be valid. Remember what I said about the rippling effects of an informed decision? The same also holds true when you make a decision based on misinformation. I know it can be easy to jump on to words you want to hear, but that doesn't always mean you have the results you desire. If you want to give yourself a superpower, let it be the one to make informed decisions based on facts, not hopes or wishes. Arm yourself with this skill and will have incredible power for the rest of your life.
